Catnip Games wurde 2009 gegründet. Das Unternehmen entwickelt hochwertige Spiele für PC und Konsolen und veröffentlicht sie teilweise selbst. Catnip Games fokussiert sich auf Download-Spiele. Obwohl die Firma jung ist, arbeitet das Kernteam seit mehr als zehn Jahren erfolgreich zusammen und wirkte an über 30 Titeln für PC, GameBoy Advance, PlayStation One, Nintendo DS und PlayStation Portable mit. Darunter so bekannte Titel wie Moorhuhn, Catan und Boulder Dash®. Derzeit ist Catnip Games lizenzierter Entwickler für Microsoft Xbox 360, PlayStation Portable und Windows Phone 7 (weitere Plattformen folgen). Neben Spielen für Konsolen entwickelt das Team auch Spiele und Software für iOS-basierte Plattformen (iPhone, iPad, iPod), Android sowie weitere mobile Plattformen. Catnip sicherte sich die Lizenz zu Entwicklung und Vertrieb des Brettspiels “Die Siedler von Catan” für Sony PlayStation Portable, das 2011 erscheint.
